Answer (English final submission):
I am excited to propose a presentation showcasing vTaiwan's collaboration with Chatham House from the UK in June 2023 for a project "Recursive Public", granted by OpenAI's program "Democratic Input to AI."
The proposal, titled "Recursive Public," piloting a framework that connects democratic engagement which hosts recursive discussion that continuously evolves with new inputs.
My presentation aims to explore insights, learnings and reflections from the vTaiwan community, while presenting our work of Recursive Public involving an online consultation using Talk to the City, asking What should be top of the agenda as humanity develops and deploys artificial intelligence? As well as running an Pol.is survey on : Should AI adhere to specific principles when addressing issues involving human rights, local laws, and cultural differences like LGBTQ and women's issues? Should AI adapt its responses based on cultural and regional variations in its usage? followed by an in-person meeting that dived deeper on the cruxes.
During the presentation, I will share the concept of Recursive Public, our experiements and learnings. Additionally, I will also discuss our revitalisation through international collaboration with Chatham House and invite for collaborations, co-learnings from wider civic-tech communities to contribute to the Recursive Public framework.
- What is Recursive Public
- Why we proposed Recursive Public? AI is a complex topic that requires a more complex deliberative process beyond Polis and vTaiwan. (that’s why the idea of “recursive” and ongoing deliberation was proposed)
- The Recursive Public framework
- Reflections around the consultation meeting: (shoutout::: 這邊希望大家多協力!)
- The constitution of participants
- More further discussion could be expanded
- At the moment polling (emotion-gauging diameter)
- Different Culture during the cooperation
- Achievements
- share OpenAI's blog
- It’s down to OpenAI in the end to decide how their AI would work.
- Overall reflectino: The UK-Taiwan collaboration

- 沒問題![name=peter]
